The Bruce Trail is Canada's oldest and longest footpath, stretching from Niagara to Tobermory, with 890km of main trail running across the extraordinary Niagara Escarpment.

The section of the Bruce Trail trail closest to Meaford starts with a trip through the valley of the Bighead River before proceeding along the escarpment to the expansive Bayview Escarpment Nature Reserve. Located just outside of Meaford in the picturesque Beaver Valley, a continuous 113km of trail filled with majestic views, waterfalls, rock crevices, meadows, and beautiful forests. The trail offers spectacular views of Georgian Bay you can only experience on foot. The trail is a foot path only, other uses are only permitted where signage indicates those uses.
